Tomorrow is a snow day. We’re projected to get 3-5 inches of snow and the call was made earlier this evening. The leaders in my division decided to make it a real snow day. No online instruction. No lessons to post in Google Classroom. A day off for everyone.
I’m going to miss having Google Meets with my students tomorrow, but I hope that they go outside and have fun in the snow. I hope that they build snowpeople and have snowball fights and go sledding. I hope that they make snow angels and snow forts. I hope that they enjoy every minute of their time outside. I hope that they make memories with their families.
After sleeping in, I’m planning to curl up in my recliner in the living room and in the glow from the lights on the Christmas tree, I’m going to read and drink tea. I’m also going to spend some time writing. I’m going to enjoy time with my family. While I’ve been working from home, they often see me with a device.
I’m thankful for this snow day and the opportunity to rest, relax, and rejuvenate!
Enjoy your snow day, Jennifer. Where do you live that schools closed already? Here on Long Island we are still waiting to hear what the storm will bring. For me, it could not come at a worse time because we have to close on our newly-built home in Virginia. We are hoping that the builders will understand and postpone the closing date until Monday.

2020 just keeps piling it on! I’m glad you’re looking forward to the snow day, and I appreciate the commitment to unplug and sit with a cup of tea!

This is definitely a joy. A Sloy if you will (maybe joice?) it is definitely important to be able to relax and have days off be real days off. Although those are quite rare for teachers.
