Searching for the right alarm clock sound #sol20

I’m on a quest to find the right alarm clock sound.  I realized that I was tired of the default alarm on my phone, so I decided to make a change.  I scrolled through the options and picked one that I thought would be okay because it was kind of peppy.  However, I discovered that it just didn’t work for me.  So, I tried another and then another, but none of them were quite right.  This morning, when the alarm went off, it took quite a while for the sound to resonate.  So, I guess that it’s back to the drawing board as I search for the perfect alarm, which seems like such an oxymoron!  I never thought that I’d be so picky about an alarm, but it really does make a difference!

Your slice reminds me of how audio-centric I am, as well. The first sound to welcome you back into the world does matter! I wish you luck finding the one that works best for you 🙂

I’ve had this problem before — I tried playing music but it was too jarring. I also tried out some different alarms only to have the same problem with them melding with my dreams and my brain not really registering that I had an alarm going on. Lately I’ve been using the routine setting on Alexa to wake me up and that seems to be going well. I appreciate you sharing this — it also gave me an idea for a writing prompt for my students.
