Feeling Like a Writer #sol15

Earlier this week I celebrated ten things about my day.  When Elsie and Leigh Anne commented on the post, they suggested that I join Ruth Ayres’ Celebration Saturday at http://www.ruthayreswrites.com.  So today’s post is doing double-duty today as I share it for #sol15 and for #celebratelu.  I recommend checking out http://www.ruthayreswrites.com!

As we near the end of #sol15 I want to celebrate feeling like a writer.  For so many years, I didn’t feel like a writer (my first blog post explains this all).  I didn’t feel as though my words mattered and I lost so much precious time when I could have been writing.  However, I want to celebrate putting those writing demons to rest.  They have no power over me.  Now, I want to celebrate every word that I put down onto a page, whether those words are good or bad.  I want to celebrate those rough drafts and the hours spent revising those drafts.  More than anything, though, I want to celebrate writing without fear because now I know that I do have something to say.

That’s an excellent celebration. I have written for quite some time now, but calling myself a writer and feeling like one took a long time. We do have something to say. 🙂

This is a wonderful quote: “More than anything, though, I want to celebrate writing without fear because now I know that I do have something to say.” You are a writer who writes fearlessly about important things. Kudos!

I clicked back to read your list of somethings, a nice variation on the Currently theme that I may try out. Glad you stopped by to celebrate with us on Saturday. It’s a great group.

Good for you! I still need to get there… Writing is not my strong point and instead of celebrating what I do, I speak negatively. I’ll get there 🙂

“More than anything, though, I want to celebrate writing without fear because now I know that I do have something to say.” Amen! Amen!! So glad you are celebrating being a writer!

Glad you joined in the celebration with Ruth. (I have been very lax about this for the last year.) Many of the slicers join every week, so there is always a friendly word for your celebration. Chasing those demons away is the first step. Writing muscle grows stronger the more you use it. So write on!

Yay! I am glad you celebrated today! This is another wonderful community but many of the same SOL people! Isn’t it nice to feel validated about our writing. I wrote a slice yesterday about how we define ourselves by our actions. I am a writer because I write – and so do you!
